THIRST // A feeling of needing or wanting to drink something.
REVELATION 21:6 (NIV)
I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
You may be broke and could pay even if you wanted to. You may feel dead inside – THIRSTY – all your hopes dashed, dreams faded, strength completely spent. Rejected, broken, empty – unfulfilled.
You may be rich, you may be spending more money than many of us can ever dream of earning. You may have physical strength and be using it – LABOURING –But wherever you are, you’re never really there – whatever you do, you're empty.
DEAD, COLD, TIRED, NUMB – WALKING DEAD IN CIRCLES
THIS THIRST IS REAL – dead inside, the great un-fillable void // SPIRITUALLY BANKRUPT.
ISAIAH 55:1-2 Invitation to the Thirsty (NIV)
Come, all you who are thirsty,
come to the waters;
and you who have no money,
come, buy and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk
without money and without cost.
Why spend money on what is not bread,
and your labor on what does not satisfy?
Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good,
and you will delight in the richest of fare.
True happiness – true peace are found when the soul is filled. The body needs physical water for sustenance // But the soul needs living water to never thirst again.
JOHN 4:13-14 (NIV)
Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst
(are you tired? unquenchable thirst)
